Well, no, not exactly. My roommate got it, and I managed to avoid getting it. In other news, not much else has been happening. I've got a project for metals due in a few days which I think I will be able to finish on time, but I managed to burn two of my fingers by picking up a piece of hot copper. School is mostly going well, except for Spanish and Corporations. My last test in spanish was a C, compared to when I was getting easy A's in high school. I haven't gotten a grade for my latest Corporations for Activists paper, but I have a feeling my professor will find a way to grade me harshly for any paper I would write. The good news is that come next semester, I will be dropping both of those classes like they were hot pieces of copper. I'm going to be replacing them with The Trojan War and Intro to American Politics, which both look like they'll be more interesting (and in english).

Soooo, in an attempt to find an exercise program that is flexible enough that I can actually stick to it, and not boring, and doesn't cost me an arm and a leg, I'm starting up the Couch to 5K program. It's three sessions of walking/running per week, for nine weeks, working your way up to running 30 minutes straight by the end. I haven't run since I blew my kneecaps off in college (ask my old roommates about the cracking noise my kneecaps used to make that was AUDIBLE FROM ACROSS THE ROOM), but I haven't had any symptoms in years due to physiotherapy and general laziness, so I figure now's as good a time as any to give it a try. OK, actually, now is not as good a time as any, as I can't find my inhaler and the snow is gonna start flying any minute, but there will always be reasons for excuses. The biggest excuse I had for not doing the Couch to 5K was that I didn't want to be constantly checking my watch or counting in my head to time the walk/run intervals - nothing would make the workouts less tolerable - but, as it turns out, there's an app for that. I did the first session on Sunday and the second session today - both challenging by the end of the run, but very doable. I didn't really stretch for the first one - THAT was stupid. Anyway, we'll see how long this lasts once the temperature drops and the snow flies, and the running intervals start lasting longer than 60 seconds.... Tags: "couch to 5k", fitness, running

AT&T E-mail from this morning: Great News! We wanted you to be among the first to know! We've recently enhanced the 3G network throughout Denver, Boulder, Aurora, Englewood, Littleton, Longmont, Greely, Golden, Arvada, and Fort Collins to provide better in-building 3G coverage, fewer dropped calls and a better overall wireless experience. Really? It was JUST YESTERDAY I was noting how fucking shitty reception was in the entire 5 or 6 block radius of my office, including in the office. Not just "only a few bars" but "NO BARS." I drive along the road and twice each time, at predictable locations, the car BT drops out because the phone loses signal, and then comes back as the phone re-acquires a signal. I know better than to make a call til I get out of the area. So, go fuck yourselves, AT&T. Your network is still shitty. And I hope Verizon continues to slaughter you on coverage and customer satisfaction until you fix your shit or Apple opens up to moving to Verizon.
